Questions about this calculator
How do I calculate employee hours for payroll?
For each employee, total the hours they worked in the pay period, split anything above your overtime threshold, then multiply by their hourly rate and any overtime multiplier. This calculator does that for every person and adds up the wage bill.
What counts as overtime?
That depends on your contracts and your country's rules. Many small businesses use a 40-hour week at 1.5x, but the threshold and multiplier are yours to set here — the calculator applies whatever you enter.
Where do I get each employee's hours from?
From your timesheets. If you're still collecting them on paper, use the weekly timesheet calculator to total each person's week first, then bring those figures here.
Does this store my employees' details?
No. Names, hours and rates stay in your browser and disappear when you close the page. Nothing is uploaded or saved.
