Staff clock in app

A Clock In App Your Crew Can Use From Any Phone

Time-Clocking is a clock in app built for UK contractors and field teams. Staff clock in and out from their own phone, a single location check confirms they're at the job site they picked, and managers see the hours straight away — no punch cards, no paper sheets.

Need weekly timesheets from every shift? See how our clock-in app for construction workers builds payroll-ready timesheets.

Why Clocking In Goes Wrong Without an App

Times written down after the fact

Start and finish times get remembered at the end of the week, not recorded on the day.

Texts and calls to say 'I'm on site'

Messages are easy to miss and impossible to total up for payroll.

Wall clocks don't travel

A fixed terminal at the yard doesn't help a crew that starts on a different site each week.

No way to check where a clock-in happened

Managers have to take every reported time on trust.

How the Time Clock App Works

Clock in from the phone they carry

Runs in the browser on Android and iPhone — nothing to install or update.

GPS clock in check

At clock-in, the phone's location is compared with the selected site's approved radius. Inside, the shift starts and the distance is shown; outside, it's refused.

One-tap clock out

Clocking out closes the active shift and stores the finish time.

Managers review the hours

See who's clocked in now, completed shifts, and weekly totals for your company.

Can't be faked from the phone

Shifts are only created through the server-side location check, not edited on the device.

Clock In and Clock Out in Four Steps

  1. 1

The employee clocks in from their phone

They open Time-Clocking, pick the site they're working at today and tap Clock In.

  2. 2

    GPS confirms the location

Their distance from that site's approved area is checked at that moment. If it doesn't pass, no shift is created.

  3. 3

    The hours are recorded

The clock-in time is stored, and the clock-out at the end of the shift closes the same entry.

  4. 4

The timesheet is ready for payroll

Totals per employee and per site build up as shifts complete, and export as a CSV when you run payroll.

What a Mobile Clock In App Changes

Accurate start and finish times

Recorded when the shift starts, not reconstructed later.

Confidence in where shifts began

Every clock-in passed a location check for its site.

Less chasing

Nobody needs to collect sheets or ring round on Friday.

Privacy-respecting

Location is checked once at clock-in — no all-day tracking.

Works across every site

One app for the yard, the office and every job your crew moves to.

Ready for payroll

Hours flow into timesheets you can filter and export as CSV.

  • Totals calculated automatically
  • Live list of who's clocked in
  • Works on any phone, at any assigned site

Clock In App Questions

How do employees clock in with the app?

They sign in on their phone with the email you added them under, choose the job site they're working at, and tap Clock In. The phone asks for location permission once for that check, and the shift starts if they're inside the site's approved radius.

Do staff need to download anything?

No. The clock in app opens in the phone's web browser on Android or iPhone, so there's nothing to install from an app store.

What happens if someone tries to clock in away from the site?

The clock-in is refused and they see a message saying they must be within the site's radius. No shift is created. The check runs on the server, so it can't be skipped from the phone.

What if location permission is turned off?

Without permission the location check can't run, so the employee can't clock in until they allow it for that request.

Does the clock in clock out app track people all day?

No. Location is checked only at the moment someone clocks in. There's no continuous tracking during the shift.

What if someone forgets to clock out?

Managers can set a threshold for flagging long open shifts and, optionally, an automatic close after a set number of hours. Auto-closed shifts are labelled so you can review and correct them.

Can employees only clock in at sites they're assigned to?

Yes. Each employee only sees and can clock in at the job sites a manager has assigned to them.
