Construction Timesheet App for Contractors and Site Teams
Time-Clocking is a construction timesheet app for contractors and site teams. Workers clock in from their phones at an assigned job site, with GPS confirming they are within its approved radius. Recorded shifts build employee timesheets with weekly totals and job-site filters, so you can review construction hours across projects and export a CSV for your payroll process.

The Trouble With Paper Construction Timesheets
Paper sheets to chase every week
Timesheets arrive late, get lost in vans or come back half filled in, and payroll waits while someone chases the missing hours.
Hours added up by hand
Someone works out start and finish times, breaks and weekly totals on a calculator, then re-types them into a spreadsheet — with every chance of a mistake.
Workers spread across several sites
When crews move between jobs, it's hard to know who was on which site and how many hours each project actually used.
Extra admin for the office
Collecting, checking and correcting sheets takes time away from running jobs and invoicing clients.
A Construction Hours Tracker Built Around the Job Site
A mobile clock-in app for construction workers
Workers clock in from their phones at the site they're assigned to — no hardware to buy, nothing to install.
Weekly totals
See each employee's hours for the week without adding anything up.
Employee and job-site filters
Narrow reports by date range, person or site.
Payroll CSV exports
Download shifts with regular and overtime totals for payroll or your bookkeeper.
Forgotten clock-outs flagged
Long open shifts are flagged and auto-closed shifts are labelled for review.
From Clock-In to Timesheet in Four Steps
- 1
Open time-clocking.com/clock
Workers visit time-clocking.com/clock in their phone's browser and sign in. There's nothing to install.
- 2
Select the assigned job site
They pick the site they're working on today from the sites their manager has assigned to them.
- 3
GPS checks location at clock-in
When they tap Clock In, the phone's location is checked once against that site's approved radius. Outside it, or with location blocked, no shift starts.
- 4
Clock out and the timesheet updates
Clocking out closes the same shift. Location isn't tracked during the day — only checked at the moment of clock-in.

Construction Timesheet App Questions
How does a construction timesheet app record workers’ hours?
A construction worker timesheet app should fill itself in, and this one does: the worker selects their assigned job site and taps Clock In from their phone's browser. GPS checks they are within the site's approved radius before the shift starts. Hours are calculated from the stored clock-in and clock-out timestamps, so nobody types hours in by hand. Location is checked at clock-in, not tracked continuously — it's a mobile clock-in app for construction workers, not a location tracker.
Can I filter timesheets by employee or job site?
Yes. Reports can be filtered by date range, employee and job site, so you can see one person's week or all the hours spent on one project.
What does the payroll CSV export include?
Each shift with the employee, job site, clock-in and clock-out times and hours, plus regular and overtime totals based on your company's daily overtime setting. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
Does the time recording software calculate overtime?
It splits each employee's daily hours into regular and overtime using the daily threshold you set in Settings (8 hours by default). It doesn't calculate pay rates — that stays in your payroll process.
Can employees see their own timesheets?
Yes. Employees see only their own shifts. Managers see their own company's employees, and no other company can see your data.
Are there limitations compared with paper timesheets?
Yes. Workers need a phone with a browser and location turned on to clock in, and someone has to set up job sites and assign staff first. GPS checks location only at clock-in, so it confirms where a shift started, not where someone was all day. The app records hours and splits overtime; it doesn't calculate wages or run payroll.
Which plans include timesheet reports and CSV exports?
Timesheet reports, filters and payroll CSV exports are included from the Business plan upwards. Every plan starts with a free trial.
Stop Typing Up Timesheets
Construction employee time tracking works best when nobody has to type it in: let clock-ins build your timesheets, then export the week for payroll.
